ABOUT
My name is Domenico Fogliaro, i’m a visual artist, designer and craftsman living and working between Milano and Amsterdam.
I was born on December 7th 1985 in the deep south of Italy. Milano is the city that adopted me from the age of five. I studied Fine Arts at the Accademy of Brera and at HBK of Braunschweig (DE).
Since i was child i spent a lot of time playing with wood, learning the secrets of this material from my grandfather. From that moment I fell madly in love with the material and the infinite possibilities of transforming it through my hands.
My curiosity led me to experiment with many materials and media from drawing to painting and photography, from engraving to serigraphy.
I approached sculpture in 2009 diuring my study in Germany and all my experiences and knowledges have naturally flowed into it becoming my main medium.
In 2015 I came to Design starting to project and produce by my own furnitures on commission, under the name of EMPTYSET.
